JULY
JULY, Day 111: Back from Vacation
The first day back from vacation can be filled with overwhelming feelings of fear, anxiety, and self-doubt. Here are four tips to help you get started on the right foot and protect your mental health upon returning.
1. Pick Three
You likely have too many items on your to-do list. If you could only accomplish three tasks today, which three tasks would make you feel the most accomplished at the end of the day? Block your calendar and do those three things.
2. Shutdown Time
Before you start working today, decide what time you're going to switch off. No matter what happens today and how much work is left unfinished, stick to that shutdown time. Start fresh after vacation by building stronger boundaries with work.
3. “I Get To”
You're probably saying to yourself, “I have to do X, Y, and Z today.” Instead, change your mindset to “I get to do X, Y, and Z today.” Thousands of job seekers are fighting to have the opportunity to do X, Y, and Z. Be grateful that you get the opportunity to do them.
4. Eat Right
We all overindulge while on vacation, which means part of the reason why we're experiencing brain fog and moving slowly is all the extra fat, sugar, and alcohol we put into our bodies. Get back to healthy eating habits, and make sure you're fueling your body with nutrient-rich food to get your mind and body running smoothly again.
