Religious, Historically African-American, Women's and Men's Colleges
Although most educational institutions in the USA are coeducational admitting women and men, some colleges have held out as single-sex colleges. Others are religious-denominated colleges and owe allegiance to the order that founded them.
International students must note that admission to religious-denominated institutions is skewed (albeit slightly) in favor of adherents to their message. Generous funding is also available to such students. Students who are followers of any of these orders must ensure that their religious persuasion is emphasized in their applications.
