Assessing Product Quality

Quality is a key factor in determining a product's maturity level. When assessed too late in a project life cycle, lack of quality can have disastrous consequences. Quality is inversely related to risk: The higher the quality level of a product, the lower the risk that it will fail in use, causing production outages and raising costs. Good IT organizations pay attention to risk factors and seek to reduce their overall risk exposure.
