Introduction

The history of successful people and ventures is filled with stories involving collaboration.1 Successful collaborators do more than just work together. According to Michael Schrage “successful collaborators work together in a shared physical, virtual, or digital space where they agree to jointly create, manipulate, iterate, capture and critique the representations of the reality they seek to discover or design.”2 This holds true for collaboration around products, processes, services, songs, or the exploration of scientific principles.
