This chapter considers some of the major challenges involved in the development and implementation of knowledge management initiatives. The challenges are identified as being related to such issues as knowledge elicitation; knowledge representation; knowledge sharing; knowledge valuation; uncertainty representation; culture; and, in particular, knowledge culture(s), the handling of big data and machine learning, and the design and implementation of knowledge processes and organizational routines.
