The final method we examine here is completed transaction comparables, which are recent deals similar to the one you are contemplating. You can access information on these through a research company such as Mergerstat, Pratt’s Stats, or (for small transactions) BIZCOMPS. If you are a food processing company looking to buy a meat supplier, you can search for like deals in your industry and come up with a list of transactions that give a purchase price along with basic financials for the buyer and the seller.
