Implementing Your Process System

ONCE YOU'VE DESIGNED a complete system, you need to implement it; inadequate implementation is far too common a pitfall. Hopefully, you've made your process system as simple as is practical. This makes it easy to explain the system to process users, process owners, and management. You may need to “sell” the system a bit, because not everyone will immediately understand why it's needed or what it does for the company.

When the system has been implemented, don't assume it's perfect. Check to see if it's working as you expect. Even if it does work perfectly to begin with, the process system may require some tweaks later on, as your company evolves. The last section of this chapter discusses how to tell ...
