Perceptions

Introduction

We would like to believe that we have good, or even great perceptions, and that our perceptions would never mislead us. Unfortunately, they cannot be trusted most of the times. Complicating the matter further is that perceptions seem to be biased upon the circumstances we find ourselves at the moment; we touched on this aspect earlier. It seems that Charles Dickens was correct in his famous Christmas fairytale, as Scrooge said that with the senses, even an undercooked potato affects them. Our perceptions, even our senses, are not always reliable; we are sure we trust what we see, what we feel, and what we hear.
