Administering NAFO Groups
The Public Network Management (PNM) system is closely associated with the logical host infrastructure. Logical hosts use NAFO groups to refer to network interfaces in an abstract manner, see Chapter 2, “Sun Cluster 2.2 Architecture.” Each NAFO group contains one or more physical interfaces (physically connected to the same subnet). If an interface fails, another interface in the group will take over the IP address and connections of the NAFO group. This enables logical hosts with redundant adapters (in a NAFO group) to survive an adapter failure. Although an adapter failure takes time, it generally takes less time than a logical host failover.
