The RFFFuture Cost Model
To estimate the future cost to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of the Superfund program, we group expenses incurred by the Agency into two broad categories: those associated with Fundlead cleanup actions at sites on the National Priorities List (NPL) and those associated with other parts of the program. The reason for making estimates in this manner is driven, in large part, by the quality and availability of data, but also by our interest in creating a model that is transparent and grounded in the real world.
