The groups made their way around the tables asking questions like, “What is your favorite memory? What do you wish you could do over? What did you want to be when you grew up and what did you end up doing?”

Trent and his group got to Mr. E's parents last. They sat down and introduced themselves and immediately Mr. E's dad pulled out a worn ping-pong paddle to show them his favorite toy. “Still works as good as the day I got it. Me, not so much.” This was followed by a raspy laugh. He looked at Trent and said, “Let me guess, you're Freddy Fafoofnick, right?” Trent looked around confused while the rest of his group laughed. James, one of his fellow group buddies, explained that he calls everyone that; it was a running joke every year.

Trent looked him in the eye and answered, “Yup, sir, that's me, but you can call me Trent!” Mr. E's dad gave him a wink and said, “I heard you were a smart one, Trent; let's have your questions and I'll try to keep up with you!”

Trent scanned his paper for the questions he was supposed to ask:

“What do you remember the most about people who made an impact in your life?”

Mr. E's dad sat in thought for a moment and then told them how the people that made the biggest impact in his life were the ones who were the most unique. They stood out from the rest for being more honest than others, or more kind, or more caring. ...
