Introduction

In Chapters 1 through 4, we reviewed the value of using frameworks for supply chain management, explored the importance of integrated business and supply chain planning, and examined the hierarchical characteristics of supply chain management frameworks. We also presented a framework for overall supply chain strategic planning and illustrated how individual supply chain functions such as manufacturing can manage their activities through hierarchical planning frameworks.
