This IBM® Redbook introduces the IBM Problem Determination and Deployment Tools for

CICS®, and UNIX® System Services applications.
For each tool, this book provides step-by-step instructions for installation and customization,
a detailed discussion of the features and capabilities, and guidance for using the tool in your
environment.
Practical scenarios demonstrate how to apply the tools to monitor, manage, debug, and
analyze applications in a real-world environment.
The team that wrote this redbook
This redbook was produced by a team of specialists from around the world working at the
International Technical Support Organization, Raleigh Center.
Eric Chabert is an IT Specialist in Advanced Technical Support (ATS) in Montpellier, France.
He has 17 years of experience with IBM, predominantly as a CICS and CICSPlex® System
Manager Specialist, but now with responsibilities for all PD Tools for z/OS. He was one of the
team members who wrote IBM Application Development and Problem Determination Tools
for z/OS and OS/390, SG24-6492, in 2004.
Sylvie Delahaye is a Software Pre-sales IT Specialist on the WebSphere® for z/OS team in
Paris, France. During her 18 years at IBM, her diverse experience has included assignments
in the Translation Center, CICS and MQSeries® marketing, the Techline, and finally the
software group for z/OS. Sylvie has extensive practical experience with the tools and
languages of z/OS. She was one of the team members who wrote IBM Application
Development and Problem Determination Tools for z/OS and OS/390, SG24-6492.
Peter Henningsen has joined IBM in 1977. Previously he worked in the industry at customer
sites. His current role is as a Senior IT Specialist in a technical sales role in the A/NZ
zSeries® Software Group. That involves working with customers and IBM colleagues in the
marketing and deployment of transaction and messaging systems (CICS, MQSeries, WAS),
and the tools and languages that support the development and operation of applications in
this space.

Lars-Erik Olsson is a Technical Pre-sales IT Specialist with the WebSphere team in
Stockholm, Sweden. He has over 20 years of experience in the computer technology field
including application programming with COBOL, IMS, DB2, CICS, and MQ, along with CICS
systems programming experience. He joined IBM in 2000 as a Customer Service Account
Manager for Tivoli®. He also has seven years of experience as an instructor in the Royal
Swedish Coast Artillery.
Gary Racine is an Advisory Technical Services Professional in the IBM Global Services,
Strategic Outsourcing Group in Canada. He provides on-going support and software
upgrades to multiple clients' mainframe environments including multiple IBM and third-party
software products. This involves significant SMP/E work, customer interactions, software
product customization, testing, as well as helping the storage teams with DR planning. Once
the custumer comes to IBM, any software change is handled through an IBM approval
process when transitioning any event as transparently to the customer as possible. Gary
provides assistance in converting clients to IBM methodologies and standards and has strong
skills in numerous software designs and architectures. Gary was one of the team members
who wrote IBM Application Development and Problem Determination Tools for z/OS and
OS/390, SG24-6492, in 2004.
