27.5 Inserting rows in a table
To insert a new row in the table we put an I in the prefix area, as shown in Figure 27-21.

After pressing Enter, a new line opens, as shown in Figure 27-22.

We now enter information, as shown in Figure 27-23, and press Enter.

After pressing Enter, FM/DB2 validates the data and gives an error message if the data is
incorrect. As shown in Figure 27-24, we have entered the wrong format for the HIREDATE
column.

We correct the date value as shown in Figure 27-25.

We then press F3 to exit. The DB2 Edit panel is displayed, as shown in Figure 27-26, and the
new row has been inserted. In the upper right corner we get the message Commit issued.
