28.8.2 Reorder and suppress fields from display
Here we show how to create a view that shows selected fields of a segment.
As shown in Figure 28-80, we create a view (VIEW5) from the template.

After we have created the view we will edit the view. We do this by entering an E on the
command line, as shown in Figure 28-81, and pressing Enter.

The Segment Selection panel is now displayed, as shown in Figure 28-82.

Under the header Sel, an asterisk (*) is displayed. This means that the segment is selected.
We also see information about:
򐂰 From where the view is fetched
򐂰 Where the template is stored

As we do not want to show the CUSTOMER segment, we enter an S on the Cmd line, as
shown in Figure 28-83, to deselect the CUSTOMER segment, and press Enter.

We now see, as shown in Figure 28-84, that the CUSTOMER segment has been deselected.

We now edit the segment CUSTOMER. This will allow us to have selection criteria for the
segment and also manipulate the layout of the segment.

To edit the segment we enter an E on the Cmd line to the left of segment COMPANY, as
shown in Figure 28-85, and press Enter.

The fields we want to display in this view are:
򐂰 COMPANY-CUST
򐂰 NO-SHARES-2
򐂰 NO-SHARES-3
򐂰 CUST-LVL
We will also display the records that have a CUST-LEVEL = A.

We select those fields by entering an S on the Cmd line, as shown in Figure 28-86.

After pressing Enter the Segment Layout panel is redisplayed, as shown in Figure 28-87.
Under the header SHC we see an S for those fields that have been selected for display.

We now reorder the display of the fields. This is done by defining the sequence numbers, as
shown in Figure 28-87.
