HERE IS A ROSTER of some of the extraordinary men and women you will meet in the pages that follow. They are listed here in the order they appear in the book.
I guess just about the whole world knows the name Mary Kay. You met her in the first chapter. Today, the company she founded has over 1 million salespeople in 30 different countries.
Mary Kay Ash started the company because…well because she was darn angry! She was fuming because in the job she had right out of high school, men had all the breaks. It was impossible for a woman to get a promotion.
So this determined young woman founded Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc. It was a rather presumptuous name for a one-employee firm. She began by selling door to door. Mary Kay is a superb salesperson and her company grew. And grew.
She is a mesmerizing speaker and a remarkable coach. Attend one of her meetings where she invites her top salespeople (almost all women) and you are ready to give up your present job and knock yourself out to get the pink Cadillac she awards her top salespeople.
Her firm is founded on the Golden Rule. She says honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of her growth.
Alan G. Hassenfeld is the high-energy board chairman of Hasbro Inc. The company is a worldwide leader in children's toys and family entertainment. He recently retired as CEO. The corporation has revenue of over $4 billion.
