Before sustainable became a multi-language word to denote ethical production and consumption, it was the operational model for apparel designer Eileen Fisher. Starting out in 1984 with four basic classic designs made with quality sourced fabrics, the company now employs 700 in several countries. She has become an international standard bearer for sustainability.
