4. Transportation Management System (TMS)

TMS is a category of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) software. The TMS system responsibility is the routing of goods into and out of the enterprise. SCM is broken into two categories, Supply Chain Planning (SCP) and Supply Chain Execution (SCE). The TMS software is part of the SCE category. The execution portion of the supply chain requires action. This is appropriate for the TMS because its job is to move the product through the supply chain.
