Much of the emphasis of the book has been on two of the Ps of sustainability: profit and planet. This chapter is dedicated to the other “P” of sustainability: people. We discuss some examples of firms that have considered their social impact when designing their operations and supply chains
In general, when a firm considers the environmental impacts of their operations, they are also considering the social impact, although perhaps indirectly:
