Practical Aspects in Closed-Loop Control

9.1    ROLE, SCHEMATICS

The performance of power converters can be improved with the use of closed-loop control [1,2]. Because the large majority of power converters start from a voltage source, closed-loop current control is very useful (Figure 9.1). Given the operations at high voltages and with high-frequency switching, the implementation of a current control loop faces a series of specific problems. This chapter discusses these problems and attempts to provide solutions.
