Abstract
Cyberattacks are on the rise despite our efforts to build systems that are safe and secure. Attackers are motivated to acquire deep knowledge about our systems, exploit inadequate defenses, share their knowledge, and weaponize it into attack tools. System builders often lack cybersecurity skills, while at the same time there are barriers to accumulate and share cybersecurity knowledge. Also, our knowledge of a given system dissipates as we implement the system, while the capabilities to rediscover this knowledge are often lacking.
