Installing Primary Sites

As discussed in Chapter 4, the role of a primary site has changed in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager from its ConfigMgr 2007 predecessor. Similarly, the installation process of the primary site has changed. There are two modes of installation for a primary site:

Stand-alone primary site: This is used for a single primary site installation. This mode requires you to reinstall System Center 2012 Configuration Manager if you decide to build a hierarchy.

Child primary site: The installation process is similar to the stand-alone primary site, but you specify a CAS the site will join during the installation process. You can install this primary site type only if you installed a CAS as part of a hierarchy deployment. ...
