Client Assignment

After the ConfigMgr client installs successfully, it must assign itself to a ConfigMgr site before it can be managed. ConfigMgr clients can be assigned only to primary sites, not secondary sites or the central administration site (CAS). If the client fails to assign itself to a site, it becomes unmanaged and stays unmanaged until it successfully assigns itself to a site. The client tries to assign itself to a site every 10 minutes. When assigned, it remains assigned to that site even if it roams to another site and will never automatically switch to a different site.
