Installing the Endpoint Protection Client

The Endpoint Protection client is separate from the ConfigMgr client; however, it is prestaged on your clients when you deploy the ConfigMgr client. This means you do not have to create any separate applications or packages to install the Endpoint Protection client as was the case with Configuration Manager 2007 with Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 integrated. The files necessary for installation are cached locally, and the SCEP client is installed only when the client agent settings are configured to enable the SCEP client.
