Using Offline Files

Using offline files enables a mobile worker to access network files locally offline, even when folder redirection is configured. While a user is connected to the local-area network (LAN), files are accessed from the network location. When working offline, files are retrieved from the Offline Files folder on the local system. A computer switches to offline mode when any of the following events occur:

• Always Offline mode has been enabled.

• The system is unable to access the redirected folders share.

• The network connection is slower than a configurable threshold in group policy.

• The user clicks the Work offline button in Windows Explorer.

Perform the following steps to configure the offline files configuration item:
