Receiving Feature Updates Using the Extensions for Windows Intune
The rapid pace at which new mobile devices are developed and released, along with their corresponding operating system updates, required Microsoft to develop a new mechanism to import MDM feature updates. Following the ConfigMgr 2012 R2 release in October 2013, Microsoft released additional MDM features in February and May 2014. To deploy new features that do not require site system or client upgrades, Microsoft has introduced the Extensions for Windows Intune function.
