Your .Mac account provides several different ways of synchronizing information. These include:
Synchronizing data from applications on your Mac (Address Book, Safari, and iCal) with the .Mac Web site.
Synchronizing data of various kinds between two (or more) Macs (discussed later in this section)
Synchronizing files and folders on your iDisk with a local copy stored on your Mac.
Depending on the third-party software you have installed, you may be able to synchronize other sorts of data too.
