One of the least publicized features in .Mac is .Mac Groups. The central focus of a .Mac group is a private Web site that’s accessible only to group members (those invited, or approved, by the group’s owner). This Web site includes:
A message board: Group members can post messages that are visible to the entire group. Because members can also send messages to the group via email—and receive copies by email—the message board also functions as a private mailing list.
Announcements: A section of the group’s home page is devoted to announcements that require special attention.
