Chapter . Install Word 2004
Your first step in using Word 2004 is to install it on your hard disk. In this section I address some questions you may have and a few issues to watch out for.
I assume that you have the Office 2004 CD and are installing Word as part of a general installation of Office. (You can, of course, install only Word if you don’t intend to use Excel or any of the other Office applications.) It’s also possible to purchase Word separately, but I have no experience of that option, so I can’t speak specifically about the installation process in that case. I imagine, though, that it’s similar to the Office installation process, and that this section will still be useful to you.
