Chapter . What’s New with AppleScript
AppleScript is like plumbing. Most of the time, you take it for granted or ignore it altogether; however, when you use it, you definitely notice (and are really unhappy) if it doesn’t work properly. In the past, Word’s support for AppleScript made a lot of folks unhappy when they tried to use it. With Word 2004, it’s a whole new ball game; AppleScript and Word are now the best of friends.
If you’ve never used or tried to use AppleScript to drive Word, and you never intend to, you can skip this section. Otherwise, read on, because this is big news. To some users, it will be the most significant reason to upgrade to Word 2004.
