Check Your Mac for Compatibility
All currently shipping Macs, as well as most models introduced within the past six years or so (and in some cases a bit earlier), can run Monterey. Sadly, Monterey does drop support for some Mac models that were able to run macOS 11 Big Sur.
The next few pages will help you verify that your hardware is fully compatible with Monterey.
Model Support
Macs that can run Monterey include the following:
iMac (Late 2015 or newer)
iMac Pro (2017 or newer)
MacBook (Early 2016 or newer)
MacBook Air (Early 2015 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Early 2015 or newer)
Mac mini (Late 2014 or newer)
Mac Pro (Late 2013 or newer)
Unfortunately, that excludes the following models that were able to run Big Sur, but can go no further:
