Control the Exposure
When you learn the foundations of photography, at some point you run across the “exposure triangle.” Creating a properly exposed photo involves a balance of three settings:
Shutter speed: How long the shutter stays open, controlling the amount of light that hits the sensor.
Aperture: The size of the lens opening, which also affects how much light gets through. (Each iPhone camera has a fixed aperture, so you cannot control this variable; see Capture a Portrait for a more detailed discussion.)
ISO: The sensitivity of the image sensor; a higher ISO setting boosts the power to the sensor, which can improve performance in low-light settings, but at the expense of adding more digital noise to the photo.
