Explore System Settings

Back in Ventura, Apple replaced System Preferences with System Settings so that the app would more closely resemble the design of the Settings app in iOS and iPadOS. If you’re already using Ventura or Sonoma, you are no doubt familiar with this new setup. If not, it can be a bit disorienting at first, so allow me to give you a quick overview before turning to the specific changes between Sonoma and Sequoia.

To open System Settings, click its Dock icon, double-click System Settings in the Applications folder, or choose Apple  > System Settings (Figure 31).
