Settling the Wild West is now up to us: educators, parents, developers, business leaders, and policymakers, and everyone in between. We are at a crossroads. The untamed nature of the app marketplace showed one path. The intentional and creative work by our pioneers showed another. That latter path made clear that reading and media do not have to be, and in fact, are not, in opposition. Tapping and clicking can, and should, be connected to literacy opportunities for all children and their families, especially those who need support the most.
