It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

hostname Command
Required parameters: None
Optional parameters: None
Returns: A string
Usage: Returns a string with the current Cisco IOS device hostname
Example:
Router(tcl)#hostnameRouter
Note
The hostname can only be retrieved, but not changed using hostname command. Use the ios_config command to change the hostname.
