Change the Bullet Style
You can add visual interest to your slides by using
a custom bullet style. PowerPoint applies different
bullet styles to bulleted list items that are on
different list levels: a dot for level 1, a dash for
level 2, and so on. You can change any default style
to one of the predefined styles, such as a diamond
or a check mark.
You can also change the color of your bullets to match or complement
your slide colors.

Can I use a custom character or
picture as a bullet?
Yes. PowerPoint has 11 custom
characters you can use, including the
symbol. Follow Steps 1 to 6 to
display the Bullets pane and then click
the Custom bullet
. Click one of the custom
characters displayed in the pull-down menu.
Alternatively, click Character to select a symbol of
your own, or click Picture to select an image.
Some of the predefined
bullets are quite large. Can
I fix that?
Yes. PowerPoint displays each
bullet as a percentage of the
bullet text. To reduce the size of
these bullet styles, follow Steps
1 to 6 to
select the bullet style and then type a relative
size for the bullet (such as 75 percent or 50
percent) in the Size text box.
