People in education often want to be where the action is; they want to make a positive difference in the lives of others. When one has been in a field where service to others is a prime component, it is sometimes hard to choose a new field where one is not of service (at least, not in the way we’re used to thinking). I chose coaching because I wanted to continue to be of service even though I was leaving the education field for “rewirement.” It took a long time to consider retirement because I wasn’t sure I wanted to take any more risks. ...
