COMMUNICATING NON-VERBALLY
You cannot not communicate. Even when you are sitting or standing quietly and not saying a word, you are communicating. You are giving off non-verbal cues that send messages to your teammates and others.
Verbal communication is volitional—you are consciously trying to sending a message to someone. Non-verbal communication, on the other hand, is unplanned and instinctual. In other words, you often do not realize you are doing things that communicate something to a teammate or stakeholder. In addition, you are not aware of the impact of these little cues on the other person.
