34. Introduction to Candlesticks

Except for the chapters involved with simplifying the data in the chart to make the major trends jump out, this book has not covered much about the actual presentation of the price data. Most of the charts used in Europe and the Americas are daily bar charts. These were simplified by using line charts or weekly and monthly charts. In the Eastern countries, a technique known as candle charting is a very widely used method, and it deserves a special mention here. That it is gaining in popularity in the West makes it more compelling.
