Chapter 10. The New Business Model
In Part 2, from examining the challenges of the conventional QoS business model, we came to realize that many of its challenges are caused by the explicit selling of QoS on top of network connectivity. While CoS can be technically useful, the attempt to commercialize CoS creates the need to differentiate multiple COS's in a way that is perceivable to the end users. This is difficult to achieve. The lack of end-user perceivable differentiation in turn leads to other commercial and regulatory challenges. In this chapter, we propose an improvement to the conventional QoS business model.
