Chapter 6Specialized Communication
This chapter examines several explicit applications of the communication classifications discussed in Chapter 5, specifically job descriptions, specifications, and grant writing. While only a few will be used on a daily basis, each helps define a train of thought and degree of specificity that will serve any technical manager well.
As the connective tissue of the Time, Talent, Money Triangle, excellent communication skills are a necessary part of the skills maintained by any technical manager. Daily practice and frequent study will, over time, result in a technical manager becoming adept at all the various tips and techniques discussed in this chapter.
