IX Future Research
This study began with an identification of the central technologies used by steel minimills to produce high-quality steel products from scrap iron. The rationale for this identification was to create a context within which international technology transfer could be examined.
A Brief Review
Central to the creation of this context was the delineation of 15 central questions. These were then distilled into two crucial questions that are inextricably linked with two critical variables: capacity and demand. Specifically, the two crucial questions that evolved from the original fifteen are:
- How is capacity built?
- How is demand sustained?
