16 Ethical aspects of experimentation

Mistakes committed by a researcher during the design or technical preparation of an experiment may cause damage or harm to him, to the objects of his study (in particular, to humans or animals involved) or to the scientific community. In the first case, it is a threat to the health and life of the researcher or a threat to his further scientific career which occurs when the committed mistakes lead him to a false research trail or undermine his epistemic authority in the eyes of the scientific community.
