Whatever kind of program you are making, you are always making it for someone else to watch. That is, unless you have unlimited personal funds and think it’s fun to make programs only you will watch. In which case, thanks for buying the book, but you’re not going to get a lot out of it.
The Audience Comes First
Successful program makers are always thinking about their audience. At every stage you should be asking yourself:
• who is this aimed at?
• will it interest them?
• will it hold their attention?
• will they enjoy watching it?
• is it delivering information they want, or ideas and messages that you want them to receive?
