CHAPTER 14 EDITING – TECHNICAL OVERVIEW
There are normally two stages to an edit – the offline and the online.
In the offline edit you view all your material and put the program together, perhaps making several versions of it until you are happy with the results. At this stage you will be working with a low quality copy of your rushes.
The online edit is your final assembly of the finished program. You will now be working with your original rushes, making any necessary adjustments to picture quality and creating a high quality edit master. It is also where you create and add any visual effects.
