Creating and Saving Custom Masters Shapes

Creating new Shape Masters can be accomplished in two ways: Creating new shapes from a Stencil or importing a clip art or image file. Creating a new shape from a Stencil gives you the capability to design details of the shape directly from Visio in the Edit Master Drawing Window, and then you simply update the Stencil file. Importing images or existing shapes is a fast way to build more shapes on new or existing Stencils.

To create new Shape Masters from an existing Stencil, follow these steps:

  1. From any Stencil file, click its Control Menu Icon to display a pop-up menu.The Stencil control menu has many commands to manipulate the shapes it holds.
