The Teradata database provides fantastic live monitoring, which enables you to see the progress of submitted queries and target longer running and high resource consuming queries. It helps you to optimize them. After you have identified a problem query, you can take corrective measures by:
- Aborting the executing query right away
- Changing the workload
- Capturing the data and tuning the query before the next execution
The detail session view provides a table listing the sessions, account strings, users, or utilities running on the database.
You can also export the data, from either the query monitor as a whole or from a session window (for a particular query), into a .csv file. More importantly, wherever you see the EXPORT ...
