Modulation Techniques
The information signal can be transmitted through the optical wireless channel using one of the several modulation techniques, which are normally used in the optical fiber communication. The simplest method to modulate the light is the direct intensity modulation of the laser beam by base-band information signal. Alternatively, the base-band signal can be translated onto an electrical RF sub-carrier by means of one of the analog or digital modulation scheme prior to intensity modulation of the optical source.
