Diversity and DetectionTechniques in OpticalFading Channel
Optical wireless channel behaves as a fading channel due to the turbulence and multipath phenomenon in the atmosphere. There is a significant probability that during transmission the channel may be in deep fade and hence can cause significant performance degradation with very poor BER. The error probability in the fading channel is much higher than in a non-fading the AWGN channel. This motivates us to investigate various techniques, which can be used to improve the performance.
