Functional suitability describes the degree to which a product or system provides functions that meet stated and implied needs when used under specified conditions.
In many cases, this quality characteristic is the main focus of testing activities. According to the standard, “functionality” comprises the subcharacteristics completeness, correctness, and appropriateness. Test automation can support parts of the testing process in all these areas.
